However, MoEa goes a step further by offering customization options on their website, allowing customers to select sneakers made from a single material of their choice. On our website, you can find the Grapes trainers in white.

1. GrapeSkin
MoEa demonstrates its innovative spirit by utilizing waste grape skins from the wine industry in Italy. By recycling this byproduct and combining it with bio-PU and recycled polyester, they create a leather-like material with a significantly reduced carbon footprint. On average, grape sneakers emit 69% less carbon (3.8kgCO2/m2) compared to traditional animal leather sneakers (60.1kgCO2/m2).
2. PineappleSkin
Collaborating with Ananas Anam, an innovative company, MoEa creates a unique material called PineappleSkin. This material is derived from waste pineapple leaf fibers, sourced from collective pineapple farms in the Philippines. The transformation process takes place in Italy, resulting in a sustainable alternative to traditional leather.
3. AppleSkin
Frumat, in close collaboration with Italian juice companies, manufactures AppleSkin, a 100% Italian material. By gathering apple waste from the juice industry and blending it with organic cotton and recycled PU, MoEa produces a durable leather-like material. This initiative not only reduces waste but also contributes to the evolution of a cruelty-free fashion industry.
4. CornSkin
MoEa sources non-edible European corn, which is imported and transformed in Italy by Viridis®. Corn, known for its versatility, replaces oil-based materials and significantly reduces the environmental impact. This renewable and eco-friendly material showcases MoEa’s dedication to minimizing the reliance on petroleum-based resources.
5. CactusSkin
In collaboration with Mexican partner Desserto, MoEa produces CactusSkin. The process begins at a certified organic cactus farm in Zacatecas, Mexico. Only mature leaves are harvested, allowing the cacti to regrow within 6-8 months. The organic cultivation methods employed during production ensure a minimal ecological footprint, with no irrigation systems or chemicals involved.
Certified and Labeled for Transparency
MoEa understands the importance of transparency in sustainable fashion. All the materials used in their sneakers are certified and labeled accordingly. Their product are PETA-approved, guaranteeing no animals are involved in the development and the production process.
