The label was founded in 2006 by Massimo Rossetti, who wanted to “create products that withstand the elements on your path and enable you to seek new destinations, casting yourself as the main character of your own story, and inspiring you through your journey.”
Why “Parajumpers”?
The name ‘Parajumpers’ comes from the nickname of the 21st squadron rescue team from Alaska, a team of paramilitary troopers from the U.S air force special operations. In fact, Rossetti created Parajumpers by engaging with real members of the special forces, who were closely involved in the process of designing garments with distinctive military styling and high calibre performance. Even Parajumpers flagship product, their range of military inspired heavy duty outerwear known as the ‘masterpiece series’ is named after different special forces missions.
Parajumpers garments focus on features that stand out both in style and functionality, such as woven nylon tape which offers a cool, rugged detail and is reflective as an added safety feature to be more visible to cars at night. The yellow strap/ carabiner at the neck offers a strong and secure closure that adds an extra seal to further protection from wind.
Phone, wallet, keys…..we have a lot to carry everyday – wouldn’t it be great to carry all these things safely without the need for an extra bag. To solve this dilemma, Parajumpers outerwear feature plenty of pockets for storage (counting up to 15 in their parkas!) with velcro closures so content stays secure.
